Why buy the old one when they just relaunched it as a new car?

Because if you want a mid engine V8 powered car from GM and don’t have $60k to spend, this is one of your only options.

How much paperwork would it take to register such a vehicle in the Republic of California? Asking for a friend

It’s an FRP type B front fascia, like this:
https://www.octanemotorsports.com/1984-1988-pontiac-fiero-duraflex-type-b-body-kit-4pc-216077.html
The quarter panels look like AusFiero S tage 3's.

Actually only came in I4 or V6 but yeah, it’s GM’s previous mid-engined car.
Edit: Nvm just saw it has a V8 swap.

$600 vs $60000.
The addition of 2 zeroes, that's why.

He did say “ONE of your only options".

Because the old one looks better?

Backyard special swap... I’d be so uncomfortable with the hokey coolant hose setup...
Nothing like a V8 Fiero though. Got a 4.9 caddy lined up to swap into my 88 whenever I get the time...

Ditto. I think we have the same friend.

The Corvair is a rear engine not mid engine. But close enough

The Corvair came with a six in the rear. THAT Corvair has a V8 where the rear seat usually is.
